FAQs

Questions, answered plainly.

Process

What does a typical project look like?

Most projects begin with a long conversation — usually a phone call, sometimes in person — about who the film is for and what it needs to preserve. From there we plan filming dates with the family, conduct interviews, capture supporting footage, and bring the material into the edit room. Final delivery is between three and six months from the first interview, depending on the package.

How long does it take?

Keepsake films are typically delivered eight to twelve weeks after the interview. Signature films take three to four months. Heirloom productions are custom and run between four and nine months from the first conversation to the final film.

Packages

Can we customize a package?

Yes. The packages are starting points, not constraints. Every family’s story has its own scale and shape, and the work scales with what’s needed — additional interviews, multiple filming locations, photo restoration, archival research, and museum-grade physical deliverables are all available as additions.

About

Who do you typically work with?

Families commissioning a film for an aging parent or grandparent, founders preserving the history of a family business, and individuals wanting to leave a thoughtful, considered record for the people who come after them. We work in English and French, and travel internationally for Signature and Heirloom productions.

Can a film be kept private?

Absolutely. Many of our films are made for an audience of one family. We share them publicly only with the family’s explicit permission, and even then, often only as short excerpts. Privacy is the default.
